Minibus hire Lambeth from the South Bank to West Norwood

The South Bank, Brixton gigs, Clapham nights and Gatwick runs, from Waterloo down to West Norwood, a short drive from our SE1 base.

Lambeth runs in a long strip from the river at Waterloo all the way down to West Norwood. At the top end are the South Bank's theatres and galleries, the London Eye and St Thomas' Hospital. In the middle are Kennington, Stockwell and Brixton. At the bottom are Clapham, Streatham and Norwood. Minibus hire Lambeth customers book covers the whole strip, with theatre trips, gigs, nights out, school runs and Gatwick flights.

Our base in SE1 is next door, and most of Lambeth is within twenty to thirty minutes.

The South Bank and Waterloo

The South Bank has the Southbank Centre, the National Theatre, the BFI and the London Eye, and the Old Vic and Young Vic are a short walk away. Theatre groups, school trips and tour groups come here every day, and the area is busy from morning to night.

Waterloo station is one of the busiest in the country, and groups arriving by train often need onward transport. County Hall, beside the Eye, has hotels and an aquarium that draws school groups. We'll agree a pickup point near the station, away from the taxi queues.

Minibus hire Lambeth for gigs and nights out

Brixton has the Academy and a busy nightlife around the market and Coldharbour Lane. Clapham High Street and the Old Town are packed with bars on weekend nights. Vauxhall has clubs and late-night venues.

Electric Brixton and the Clapham Grand add club nights and gigs to the mix. For a night out, one vehicle gets everyone there at the same time and home again at the end. Give us the drop-off addresses in advance and the driver will plan the route.

The Oval and Kennington

The Oval, in Kennington, is home to Surrey County Cricket Club and hosts Test matches in the summer. On match days, the roads around the ground get busy, and groups book us to get there and back.

International cricket at The Oval sells out, and the area around Kennington tube and the Harleyford Road gets crowded before and after a day's play. Lambeth Palace, the London home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, sits by the river opposite Parliament, and the Garden Museum next door draws groups too.

Hospitals, schools and weddings

St Thomas' Hospital, opposite Parliament, and King's College Hospital, just over the border in Camberwell, are two of London's biggest hospitals. Both hospitals' staff book us for leaving dos and team nights.

Lambeth has a lot of schools, and they book us for trips, fixtures and days out. Weddings at Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton, at churches across the borough and at venues along the river bring plenty of bookings too.

Further south, Streatham has its ice and leisure centre and a long high street on the A23, and West Norwood has its historic cemetery and the South London Theatre. Herne Hill and Brockwell Park, with the lido and summer festivals, sit on the borough's eastern edge.

The A23, Gatwick and the other airports

The A23 runs through Lambeth from Kennington through Brixton and Streatham towards Croydon and Gatwick. At a quiet hour, Gatwick is about an hour from most of the borough. At peak times, the A23 is one of the slowest roads in south London.

London City Airport is about twenty-five to thirty-five minutes. Heathrow is about an hour, along the A4 or the A3 and the M25. Stansted is about an hour and a quarter.

For early flights, a pickup at 4am from Brixton or Stockwell for a 6:30 Gatwick departure is usually plenty. The A23 is clear at that hour.

The Vauxhall gyratory and bus lanes

The Vauxhall gyratory, where several main roads meet by the river, is one of the busiest junctions in south London, and it's been reworked in recent years. Brixton Road and Clapham Road have bus lanes along much of their length.

The thing to know about minibus hire Lambeth groups book in the north of the borough is that Waterloo and the South Bank sit inside the Congestion Charge zone. During charging hours it's added to the quote.

Lambeth's position between the river and south London makes it a good starting point for almost anywhere. The West End is ten minutes across the bridges, the City a little more, and the M25 about forty minutes south. Whatever the trip, give us the addresses, the numbers and the timings, and we'll send back a vehicle, a route and a written price. Short-notice bookings are often possible, because our base is so close.

Weekend mornings are usually the quickest time to get out of the borough by road, before the shopping and sport traffic builds.

Short-notice bookings from Waterloo, Kennington and Vauxhall are often possible within the hour, because they're so close to our base in SE1.
