Leyton Orient have played at Brisbane Road since 1937, and on a home match day the streets off the High Road fill with supporters in red. Just to the west, the Lee Valley opens out into marshes, reservoirs and the sports venues built for the 2012 Olympics. Minibus hire Leyton customers book is shaped by sport more than anywhere else in east London, with Orient match days, junior clubs heading to the ice rink, the hockey centre and the velodrome, and Sunday league teams on their way to fixtures, along with nights out, family events and runs to Stansted.
Leyton sits in the south of Waltham Forest, between Walthamstow to the north, Stratford to the south and Leytonstone to the east. From our base in SE1, it's about forty to fifty minutes outside the rush hour, through the City and along the A11 or via the Blackwall Tunnel and the A12.
Minibus hire Leyton for Orient match days
Brisbane Road holds around nine thousand, and on match days the High Road, Buckingham Road and the streets around the ground are busy for a couple of hours either side of kick-off. Supporters' clubs from further out in Essex and Hertfordshire, away fans arriving at Liverpool Street or Stratford, and junior football clubs on a day out all book us to get there together.
We'll confirm where minibuses can drop for that fixture and agree where the group meets after the final whistle. For away supporters, a run from a central London station to the ground is about thirty to forty minutes. If you have an unrelated booking near the ground on a match day, tell us, and we'll plan the pickup away from the busiest streets.
Ice, hockey and cycling in the Lee Valley
The Lee Valley Ice Centre, on Lea Bridge Road, has public skating, ice hockey and figure skating clubs, and school groups and birthday parties book sessions there. In the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, just south, the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre hosts international hockey and junior tournaments, and the VeloPark has the Olympic velodrome, a BMX track and road and mountain bike circuits.
Clubs book us for training sessions, competitions and tournaments, and schools book us for taster days. A team with sticks, skates or bikes fits in one vehicle, with the bigger kit in the back. Tell us about bikes in advance, so we can check the space.
Sunday league and the marshes
Leyton Marshes and the playing fields along the Lee Valley host grassroots football every weekend, and Hackney Marshes, a few minutes south-west, has dozens of pitches. The Middlesex Filter Beds nature reserve, by the river, is a quiet spot for a school nature trip. Leyton has plenty of clubs for adults and juniors, and they book us for away fixtures, cup finals and end-of-season trips.
Sunday morning kick-offs mean early pickups. We'll collect the squad from one or two meeting points, drop at the ground and bring everyone back after the game. Minibus hire Leyton clubs book for a whole season can follow a set pattern, with the fixtures sent through in advance.
Nights out and family events
Leyton High Road and the Francis Road area have pubs, bars and restaurants, and Leyton's mix of Pakistani, Caribbean, Eastern European and Turkish families means plenty of weddings, engagements and big birthdays. Leyton Jubilee Park and Coronation Gardens, by the football ground, host summer events.
For family weddings, we'll plan the runs between homes, the ceremony and the reception. For a night out, we'll collect from homes across Leyton, drop at the venue and pick the group up at the agreed time, with the drop-offs at the end in a sensible order.
Stansted via the A12
Stansted is about forty minutes from Leyton outside the rush hour, via the A12 or the North Circular and the M11. London City Airport is about twenty to twenty-five minutes, and Southend about fifty minutes. Heathrow and Gatwick are both an hour or more, across or round London.
For families flying out of Stansted, a minibus from the door means everyone and the luggage travel together, without the Overground connection to Tottenham Hale and the train from there. For arrivals, send us the flight number and we'll check it on the day.
Lea Bridge Road and the Olympic Park
Lea Bridge Road is the main road west towards Hackney and Clapton, and it has bus lanes and a long cycle track, which limit where vehicles can stop. Leyton High Road is busy with buses. On days when West Ham play at the London Stadium, or when there's a big event in the Olympic Park, the roads around Stratford and the southern end of Leyton slow down for hours. If your booking falls on one of those days, tell us and we'll plan the route around it.
