Enfield is London's most northerly borough, and the M25 runs along its top edge. That puts Stansted under an hour away and Hertfordshire on the doorstep. It also has more green space than most of London, with country-house estates that host a lot of weddings. Minibus hire Enfield customers book is mostly weddings, airport runs and school trips, and plenty of family celebrations in between.
From our base in SE1, Enfield Town is about an hour outside the rush hour, up the A10.
Weddings at Forty Hall and Trent Park
Enfield has some unusual wedding venues for a London borough. Forty Hall, a Jacobean house with its own estate, hosts ceremonies and receptions. Trent Park, with its mansion and country park, is another, and Myddelton House Gardens is a favourite for photographs.
For weddings at these venues, the usual pattern is a run from a hotel or a meeting point to the ceremony, then home at the end of the night. Country-house venues often have long drives and limited turning space, so we'll check the access in advance and agree where the vehicle can wait.
Enfield also has plenty of weddings at places of worship and halls across the borough, often with big guest lists and several runs. For those, two or three vehicles running loops usually beats one vehicle making repeat trips.
Minibus hire Enfield for Stansted
Stansted is the natural airport for Enfield. From Enfield Town, it's around thirty-five to forty-five minutes via the A10 and the M25 to junction 27, then up the M11. For a 6am flight, a pickup around 3:30 is usually right for a group.
Luton is about forty-five minutes via the M25 and the M1. Both airports have early budget flights, and for a family group with luggage, a minibus at 3:30am beats a taxi convoy. Heathrow is a long way, around an hour and a quarter round the M25. Gatwick is longer still, often an hour and a half or more.
The A10 Great Cambridge Road is the main road into London and towards the M25, and it's slow at peak times, especially around the Southbury Road junction and further south towards Edmonton.
Schools, hospitals and sport
Enfield has a large number of schools, and they book us for trips into central London, sports fixtures and days out. Lee Valley, along the eastern edge of the borough, has outdoor centres and sports venues used for school and club trips.
The borough has two main hospitals, Chase Farm in the north and the North Middlesex in Edmonton. Staff from both book us for team events and leaving dos.
Local sports clubs travel all over north London and Hertfordshire for fixtures, and a 16-seater with room for kit is the usual booking. Golf clubs on the borough's northern edge bring groups in too, with bags that need the spare seats.
Enfield Town and around
Enfield Town has a market place, a shopping centre and a busy high street, with restaurants that draw evening groups, with the A110 and the A105 running through. The roads in the centre are narrow and busy, so we'll agree a pickup point on a side street or near Enfield Town or Enfield Chase station.
Edmonton, in the south-east of the borough, is busier and more urban. Southgate, Palmers Green and Winchmore Hill in the south-west are quieter suburbs, with more family pickups and school runs. Each has its own page.
Family celebrations and community trips
Enfield has a lot of large family events, from weddings and christenings to big birthdays and anniversary parties. Guests often come from across north London and Hertfordshire, and a minibus from a meeting point saves everyone driving.
Community groups and places of worship organise day trips to the coast, visits to other communities and outings for older members. For those, tell us the head count and whether anyone needs help getting on and off the vehicle, and we'll plan a comfort stop on longer runs.
Capel Manor, near the M25 at junction 25, has gardens and an animal collection that make it a popular trip for schools and families.
Close to the M25, and to Hertfordshire
The M25 runs along Enfield's northern edge, with junction 24 near Potters Bar and junction 25 on the A10. That makes the motorway quick to reach from the north of the borough, and Hertfordshire's towns and venues close.
The thing to know about minibus hire Enfield bookings in the south of the borough is the North Circular. From Edmonton, Palmers Green or Southgate, crossing it can take a while at peak times, especially around the A10 junction. For trips that start in the south and head north, we'll plan the route and the pickup time around it.
