Hammersmith and Fulham has three professional football grounds, two big music venues, a major exhibition centre and some of the quickest Heathrow runs in London. Stamford Bridge, Craven Cottage and Loftus Road. The Eventim Apollo and Shepherd's Bush Empire. Olympia. Minibus hire Hammersmith and Fulham customers book reflects all of that, with match days, gigs, exhibitions and airport runs, plus weddings and school trips.
From our base in SE1, Hammersmith is about thirty to forty minutes outside the rush hour, along the A4.
Three football grounds
Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's ground, sits on the Fulham Road. Craven Cottage, Fulham's ground, is on the riverside near Putney Bridge. Loftus Road, home of QPR, is in White City. On a busy weekend, more than one can have a match on the same day.
Supporters' groups book us to get to the game together, often from outside London. Coaches and minibuses use set drop-off areas on match days, and the roads near each ground are managed by stewards and the police. Before the day, we'll confirm where the driver drops and where the group meets afterwards.
Visiting supporters' clubs from outside London sometimes book us to collect them from Euston or King's Cross and take them on to the ground, which saves changing trains with a large group. Hospitality packages at all three grounds start well before kick-off, so hospitality guests usually want an earlier drop-off and a later pickup than ordinary supporters.
Gigs at the Apollo and the Empire
The Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush Empire are two of London's best-known music venues, and both host comedy and shows as well as gigs. The Lyric Hammersmith and Riverside Studios add theatre and film.
For a group, a minibus means arriving together and leaving together. We'll agree a pickup point a short walk from the venue, away from the crowds. Shows at both venues usually finish between ten and eleven, and the nearby tube stations are packed straight afterwards.
Minibus hire Hammersmith and Fulham for Olympia
Olympia London, on the borough's eastern edge, hosts exhibitions, trade shows and events through the year. Exhibitors and visitors book us for shuttles between hotels and the venue, and for runs carrying display kit.
For exhibitions, tell us which entrance you need and the times, and we'll plan the drop-off.
Olympia has been going through a major redevelopment, adding a hotel, theatres and new public space alongside the exhibition halls. Access points can change while work continues, so we check the latest arrangements before each event.
Westfield, White City and the BBC
Westfield London, in White City, is one of the biggest shopping centres in Europe. The old BBC Television Centre nearby has been turned into homes, offices and studios, and Imperial College has built a campus in White City. Groups book us for shopping trips, team events and university field trips. Shepherd's Bush Market, under the railway arches near Goldhawk Road, is a very different shopping trip, with fabrics, food and household goods. Linford Christie Stadium, by Wormwood Scrubs, is the borough's athletics track, and schools and clubs book us for fixtures there.
Weddings take place at Fulham Palace, at the register office in Hammersmith Town Hall and at churches across the borough, and we cover the guest runs for those too.
Hammersmith Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital are both in the borough, and staff book us for team events and leaving dos. Shift patterns at both hospitals mean early starts and late finishes, and we can work to those times.
Heathrow down the A4
Heathrow is one of the quickest airports from here, about thirty to forty minutes outside the rush hour, straight down the A4 and the M4. For Gatwick, allow an hour or a little more. London City Airport, in the east, takes about forty-five minutes to an hour.
The Hammersmith flyover carries the A4 over Hammersmith Broadway, and it's the main route west. At peak times, it's slow. Because the run is short, families here can usually leave later than they would from east or south London. Tell us the terminal and the flight time, and we'll suggest a pickup time.
Hammersmith Bridge and the Broadway
Hammersmith Bridge has been closed to motor vehicles for years, which means trips south across the river go via Putney Bridge or Chiswick Bridge instead, and the Fulham Palace Road takes much of the extra traffic at weekends. Hammersmith Broadway, a large gyratory around the bus station, is busy at most times of day.
The thing to know about minibus hire Hammersmith and Fulham residents book on match days is that the roads around the football grounds close or fill for hours. If your booking falls on a home match day for Chelsea, Fulham or QPR, tell us and we'll plan the route around it.
